(VOVWORLD) - The 60th Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) General Assembly and Associated Meetings opened on Tuesday in Seoul, gathering 250 ABU members from 67 countries, including a delegation from the Voice of Vietnam, led by VOV Vice President Pham Manh Hung.

With the theme “What Comes Next?”, the General Assembly aims to address the critical issue of sustainability in the broadcasting industry and shape its future in the Asia-Pacific region. During the meeting, delegates will discuss a sustainable path for the industry, aiming to explore innovative strategies, review best practices, and foster partnerships that promote resilience, diversity, and accountability in business operations.
As part of the event, the ABU Prize Award Ceremony, a prestigious international radio and television professional award organized annually by ABU, has taken place. This year the competition received some 350 entries in three categories – radio, TV, and digital content.
VOV won awards for radio broadcasting in the News Reporting and the Community Social Announcement category, and received a consolation prize in the Documentary category. In addition, engineer VOV’s Do Anh Duc was honored with ABU’s "Talented Young Engineer" award.
