(VOVWORLD) - Since the beginning of the summer, many playgrounds and sports centers have been created and many classes have opened, teaching children to swim and play basketball, badminton, and other sports. At summer camps children are playing folk games and participating in quizzes, painting, storytelling, and computer activities.

The Vinh Long Provincial Youth Center has organized a Children's Open Badminton Tournament involving 50 badminton clubs from Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, Can Tho, and Tien Giang province.
Nguyen Phu Toan, Deputy Director of the Center, said: “The tournament helps improve children’s badminton skills and give them a place to make new friends. It’s a bit of fun after months of stressful studying.”
In Quang Ninh province, a program called “My Summer” has attracted many children with museum displays on biodiversity, natural resources, marine habitats, and seafood exploitation and team-building games such as sack-racing and tug-of-war. There are also activities to promote children's creativity, such as drawing, decorating pots and vases, making craft items, and assembling pictures from bits of wood, small seashells, and pebbles.

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo, Hanoi provides children venues to explore the cultures, houses, clothes, folk games, and festivals of Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Representatives of ethnic groups give regular performances of their typical musical instruments and arts. Children learn to make handicraft items and hear the artisans’ stories.
