On April 5, Quinn Richard Anthony set sail from the Philippines’s Luzon island to Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa province for sightseeing and tourism. While traveling at sea, the mast was broken, the engine also failed, and he lost control of his sailboat.
While drifting at sea, on Monday afternoon, he was approached by crew members aboard fishing vessel QNg 55766 TS of Quang Ngai province, who towed the sailboat to the mainland and handed it over to Sa Huynh border guard station.
The border guard unit performed a health check, measured blood pressure, provided some essential food and assisted the man in contacting his family.
