(VOVWORLD) - “Tam Ky - Sua flower season” festival opened at the Huong Tra ecological village in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam province, on Friday, featuring various activities.

Sua flowers are known scientifically as Dalbergia tonkinensis.
The festival features a ceremony to present certificates recognizing nine trees in Huong Tra village as Vietnamese heritage trees, an Ao dai festival, a running event, a traditional boat race, and Bai Choi performances.
The festival aims to establish the brand "Tam Ky - City of Sua Flowers” in association with the establishment of Huong Tra eco-tourism area, promote tourism activities, and make Tam Ky an appealing tourist destination.
Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, said: "This is an important lever and an opportunity for Tam Ky city to develop its tourism and foster cooperation among localities in the southern region of Quang Nam province. This aims to position Tam Ky as a core tourist destination in Quang Nam."
