(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed a Decision approving the Planning for protection and exploitation of aquatic resources for the 2021- 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

By 2030, Vietnam aims to protect, preserve and develop aquatic resources in all types of water areas, conserve marine biodiversity, develop sustainable and responsible fisheries exploitation in accordance with international integration requirements, protect the environment, adapt to climate change, prevent and combat natural disasters, contribute to improving people’s material and spiritual lives, ensure social security, and protect national sovereignty, sovereign rights, jurisdiction, security, order and national interests in Vietnam’s rivers and seas.
According to Vision to 2050, Vietnam will become a country with modern, sustainable fisheries development, on a par with countries with developed fisheries sectors in the region and the world. Vietnam will preserve and develop marine biodiversity and inland water areas, improve people's material and spiritual lives, contribute to ensuring social security, and protect national sovereignty, security, and order and national interests in Vietnam's rivers and seas.
