(VOVWORLD) -The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) President Do Tien Sy on Wednesday stressed the need to restructure the economy, develop green economy, digital economy, digital society, and push in-depth model transformation coupled with sustainable and environmentally friendly development.

Addressing VOV Online’s business forum in Hanoi on Wednesday to seek ways to accelerate green growth in Vietnam, Mr. Sy, who is also member of the Party Central Committee, said that as Vietnam is entering a new stage of development associated with development goals until 2030, vision to 2045, it needs to innovate thinking and action.
He urged for efforts to effectively take advantage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and extensive international integration to create opportunities for the future.
“In the face of climate change impacts, resources are being depleted, green transformation is inevitable for development. Businesses’ green production, green factories, green technology, clean materials, and green energy have created competitive edges. So, transformation is not only a challenge but also an opportunity to craft the most effective business development strategy."

At the forum, experts analyzed the challenges facing green transformation in Vietnam and stressed coordination between central and local agencies, new financial mechanisms, especially the green bond and green credit market, and favorable conditions for the carbon credit market to thrive.
